This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing purpose-directed occupational safety and health programs designed to minimize the frequency and severity of customer and associate accidents, while complying with applicable regulatory requirements. This leader is the subject matter expert on all safety matters and will be the support resource for all internal and external business partners with accountability of building a culture of safety across SEG.

Strategic Program Development and Alignment
Coordinate the development and use of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) in order to standardize a Best Method safety processes and ensure technical application is applied to all associate education programs. Responsible for the oversight and management of enterprise occupational safety policies and procedures. Create, monitor, and improve enterprise safety reporting and ensure accuracy in accident reporting metrics for Operations and the Asset Protection field team. Create strategies for continuous program and awareness improvements in order to reduce injury trends and related claim expense. Work closely with store design teams and adopt a process of “safety by environmental design” for all new store and renewal projects. Accept responsibility for assigned projects and bring them to effective and successful completion.
Risk Analysis & Process Improvement
Develop or instruct the creation of risk analysis, statistical reports and/or dashboards focused on injury trends, and compliance risks while ensuring accuracy. Build and communicate ROI models and speak to the P&L on impacts of safety and compliance programs. Identify and analyze factors that are creating workplace expense and recommend effective control measures. Identify the interrelationship between departmental protocols and where best to identify and apply best safety practices to make changes to improve occupational safety.
Working Cross Functionally (Internal & External Vendor Partnerships)
Establish strong partnerships with cross-functional departments (Real-estate, Construction, Operations, Training) to promote and accomplish safety objectives. Develop awareness, buy-in, and engagement with store operations in support of accident prevention programs. Develop a process of “Continuous Improvement” by streamlining core safety programs throughout the company. Regularly engage stakeholders and strategize on safety improvements. Responsible for the oversight and management of outside vendor partners to promote and accomplish safety objectives. Provide input on cctv layouts/design while ensuring remote video monitoring tools are being effectively used to document and preserve evidence for all customer and associate accidents.
Ability to interpret local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) regulations and apply them appropriately. Ensure the company is following all standards to include but not limited to : General Industry Safety Orders, Uniform Fire Code, Life Safety Code, Employee Right-to-Know, Community Right-to-Know, Hazardous Waste Disposal, Lockout/Tag-out, Emergency Evacuation, Ergonomics and OSHA Recordkeeping.

• 8+ years of grocery operations and/or Safety experience.
