    Job Title:

    Compliance Specialist II

     

    Job Purpose

    Responsible for monitoring the organization’s regulatory compliance. This role reports to the Director of Compliance. Provides support to ensure company practices are compliant with various company policies and state regulations  This role works collaboratively with business partners across the organization as well as external program owners. This position works with management to identify trends and develop solutions that reduce transactional errors and supports continuous process improvement.

     

    Essential Responsibilities

    Monitors processes and performs compliance reviews to ensure the company is compliant with multiple regulatory agencies.

    30%

    Proactively works with business partners to streamline and improve processes and increase overall compliance. Partners with related departments providing guidance and support to identify issues and determine appropriate avenue for resolution. Partner with teams to ensure timely processing of related compliance issues. Applies knowledge of regulations and associated agencies to identify issues requiring additional escalation and attention.

    Identifies gaps between compliant and non-compliant processes. Make recommendations for changes or areas for additional scrutiny.

    20%

    Maintains and continues growing knowledge of regulatory requirements. Supports auditing and compliance of processes and related issues. Provides guidance and support to managers and associates with questions and/or concerns regarding compliance policies, procedures and processes.

    10%

    Creates and manages status reports and performance measurement tools. Maintains accurate and updated records and reporting for various compliance and regulatory programs.

    Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    Required Education

    Course of Study

    Bachelor's Degree or 4 Yrs Relevant Experience

    Business Admin or related field

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

    • Audit knowledge

    • Demonstrated strong PC skills including working knowledge and proficiency with the primary Microsoft Office applications

    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in order to engage and impact internal and external business partners

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred

    • Business process modeling

    • Understanding of Department of Agriculture – Food Safety regulations

    • Understanding Department of Agriculture - Country of Origin regulations

    • Understanding of Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) regulations

    • Knowledge of Environmental Health, Pharmacy, and Department of Health processes

    • Knowledge of HIPPA regulations

    SSC Light: Physical Demands: While performing the essential functions of this position, the associate is regularly required to sit, use hands or fingers to handle, hold or feel objects, tools or controls, talk, see, hear and perform repetitive movements with both hands. The employee is occasionally required to stand or walk on carpet, tile or concrete Working Conditions: Majority of the time will be spent indoors in a traditional office environment.
