Job Purpose

Job Purpose

The role is responsible for evaluating the material handling of inventory within a warehouse managed by a third-party logistics provider. This position will conduct focused warehouse audits based on company performance metrics to ensure proper inventory controls are in place, compliance with industry best practices, and identify operational or performance gaps that are detrimental to distribution service and/or expense. This role will work closely with the management team and make recommendations for process improvements, map process flows, draft reports, document investigations and communicate activity in a dynamic and unstructured environment that requires independent discretion.

Perform warehouse audits for assigned third-party logistics locations to determine if industry best practices are being maintained with respect to receiving, inventory control, shipping and reverse distribution processes and are within strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOP). Evaluate reported warehouse accuracy rates and take action as necessary to increase awareness and assist in correcting poor performance.

Analyze and identify root causes of quality, accuracy, damage and service level issues. Recommend process improvements where substandard performance has been identified based on key performance indicators (KPI’s).

Investigate large inventory adjustments or anomalies to determine root cause and effectively influence the appropriate improvements to people, processes, and technology contributing to the issue.

Manage small projects or aspects of larger, more complex projects and adhere to established timelines and deliverables.

Develop, maintain and leverage strong business relationships including vendors, store operations, asset protection and third-party logistics providers to understand the overall business need and effectively influence change.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Previous management level experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Solid understanding of the regulatory requirements of cold chain, HACCP and proper food handling along with knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to influence and build productive working relationships with internal associates and external business partners.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred

·   Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to effectively convey complex and detailed information to a diverse population.

·   Investigative instincts and the ability to provide innovative solutions to minimize product loss.
