Food Safety, Sanitation and Pest Program Specialist

 

 

Job Purpose

Responsible for proactively supporting the retail food safety program regarding sanitation, pest control, and food code adherence.  This role will be focused on driving regulatory compliance through improvement of food safety policies, programs, and procedures. This individual will be responsible for the overall maintenance of Pest Control and Chemical Sanitation programs to assist retail associates in achieving food safety goals. Additionally, this role will handle departmental food safety reporting in relation to regulatory inspections, Pest Control service, Culture of Clean reporting, Retail Success Assessments, and additional measures as needed.

Oversee and manage the company’s third-party pest control service provider to maximize efficiency in service levels while budgeting for and accountable to the financial plan. Develop statistical reporting metrics for problem stores and report out systemically on service levels designed to prevent infestations in retail stores.

Oversee and manage the company’s third-party chemical service providers to ensure all sanitation procedures, practices, and policies reflect current food code standards for retail stores. Establish systemic processes to ensure these standards are met through vendor assessment processes and microbiological testing as needed.

Facilitate onsite Rodent Remediation store assessments in the field with key business partners to resolve escalated pest/rodent issues. Facilitate weekly DM/RVP conference calls with key stakeholders for improvement in food safety standards, pest control SOP’s, and open conditions at store level.

Work on issues related to pest control, sanitation, and food safety issues and take immediate action to resolve.  Identify the root cause of food safety problems and suggest direction to minimize future exposure.

Manage monthly and ad hoc billing process for third party pest control.

Qualifications

·   Possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

·   Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

·   Ability to obtain Professional Food Manager Certifications within 90 days of onboarding.

·   Strong ability to coach and train others.

·   Proficient in forensic audit tasks and investigations.

·   Strong leadership and education/coaching skill sets.

·   Possess any of the following RS, HACCP Certified, REHS or SQF certified.

·   Strong ability to facilitate and lead meetings with multiple business area stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred

·   Possess any of the following RS, HACCP Certified, REHS or SQF certified.

·   Pest Control Certification.

·   Knowledge of Rodent Remediation Protocol.

·   Knowledge of Cleaning & Sanitation chemicals for food service use.
